Mena is under a curse. If is a long way from home. And they’re trapped together in a studio apartment.
My first ever play is a whimsical story of a girl who needs to escape and the friend she needs to help her.
When Mena was a child she made a friend who was not quite human. Arriving home after a fraught day at work, years later, she is less than prepared to find If waiting for her. The unwelcome reunion becomes interesting when If causes the flat to seal around them, locking them inside.
There was a rehearsed reading of Human and If in 2012, held at the Tea House Theatre in Vauxhall. The role of Mina was played by Kate Mounce, with If played by Amy Straker. It was directed by Sue Curnow.
